BG Power Steering Flush

The BG Power Steering Service removes residues from the entire steering system, ensuring smooth, quiet operation while preventing leaks, sticking, and wear of parts.

Benefits

After a Utah BG power steering flush you’ll notice:

  • Eliminated steering squeal
  • Corrected “jerky” steering wheel
  • Fluid leak prevention
  • Reduced wear

The power steering pump produces high pressure between 800–2000 pounds, with high heat. This leads to fluid breakdown and failure. Symptoms include groaning and whining noises, erratic steering, and pump leaks.

A powerful cleaner suspends and dissolves varnish and gums in the power steering system and then all of the old fluid is replaced with new high-tech power steering fluid for both conventional sector and rack and pinion. The benefit will be a quieter-operating, longer-lasting power-steering system. Without proper maintenance and steering fluid flush, grooves are worn into the soft metal of the spool valve housing by hardened seals. Metallic debris from such wear accumulates in the fluid causing premature component failure.

BG Differential/Axle Service

Drive Line Service

The BG Drive Line Service guarantees the smooth, quiet operation of axles, transfer cases, and gears for front-wheel-drive transmissions, all rear-wheel drives, and all four-wheel drive transmissions. Too often overlooked in even the most scrupulous programs of maintenance, these BG products contribute meaningfully to the overall economy and efficiency of your vehicle’s operation.

Why do I need to service a vehicle’s differential?

The rear end or differential of your car or truck contains gears and clutches and is used to transfer the power from the drive shaft to the ground through the rear wheels. The gears inside the differential turn at up to 5000 times a minute and strain against the full weight of your car and whatever you are towing. These high-stress gears are lubricated by about 3 quarts of oil with no filtering system.

Most manufacturers recommend that the differential gear oil be changed on a periodic basis ranging from 30,000 to 50,000 miles. Remember there is no filter to keep the differential fluid clean, so we recommend the fluid be changed at least every 30,000 miles or more frequently if you tow often.

BG Products makes a synthetic fluid for differentials that will help protect and lubricate the gears and bearings in the differential. BG offers an extended warranty for 7 years and 150,000 miles to cover the cost of repairs to the differential. To qualify for the warranty you need to service the rear end before 36,000 miles or 3 years and maintain a regular service every 30,000 or 2 years after that.

4 Wheel Drive or all-wheel drive

Four Wheel-drive vehicles have 2 differentials (front and rear) and a transfer case. The transfer case connects the transmission to both the front and rear differentials. The service schedule for the front differential is the same as the rear, and the transfer case is serviced on the same schedule as the transmission. If you use your 4-wheel drive off-road, especially in muddy conditions it needs to be serviced much more often.

Both the 4-wheel drive differential and the transfer case can qualify for the BG Products warranty.
