Car Restoration
Do you have a classic or a muscle car you would like to have restored? How about building a car for open-road racing like the Silver States Classic in Nevada or an autocross event at your local venue? Perhaps you have been dreaming of running your car at Utah Motorsports Park. No matter what your dream is, we can help! We can restore your classic car as we have restored many other cars to show condition, and we have an auto rotisserie. We have built multiple cars for open road racing as well as fabricated roll bars & cages for local track and drag strip events.
Customer Rides
Dick N. of South Ogden, UT
Dick N. of South Ogden is the proud owner of 2 projects that we have helped him with. Most of us would be happy with either one of his 2 classics!
Dick’s 1965 Pontiac LeMans Convertible was restored to stock condition by Layton Carcare over 20 years ago. It still shines like new, and has taken home many best paint and people’s choice awards. It’s a real crowd pleaser.
Dick’s other ride is a 1966 Pontiac GTO. We completed this project for him in 2011 and is another crowd favorite. This car is considered a Restomod or classic body with a modern drive train. The Pontiac GTO or “Goat” had the body removed from the frame. The frame was then boxed and reinforced, to improve the strength of the frame.
The body was mounted on our rotisserie and sandblasted. The rusted body panels were repaired and replaced as needed. The floor pan was bed lined using the same materials that we use on our customers truck beds. This is probably the last time the floor pan will ever need repairs again as the finish is the toughest thing that you can put on the bottom of the car.
The finish is custom color blue and silver with pearl and ground mirror added for additional depth. The pinstripes are painted on and then clear coated.
The drive train has been updated with a 5-speed overdrive transmission. This car gets over 18 MPG with tri-power or 3 two-barrel carburetors. (That is if Dick can keep his foot out of the carbs).
Dave W. Of Saint George, UT
Dave’s love of this 1966 Corvette started over 30 years ago. 25 years ago Dave brought the car to us for body and paint work. The Car had been in a major front end wreck which hadn’t been repaired properly. Also all 4 fenders were flared, which was the style of 60’s.
What started out as a restoration has over the years became a Restomod. Dave brought it back to us and we installed a GM performance small block Chevrolet 350 crate motor. The transmission is a 5-speed overdrive, which enables Dave to enjoy cruising the highways without excessive fuel consumption.
This car stops traffic where ever it goes. Dave calls his car a “flash car show”.
Good luck at the races Dave!
